Hampi, the soul amidst the ruins

Hampi is a historical site scattered with ruins and excavations in Karnataka. As the capital of the Hindu kingdom of Vijayanagara and was a beautiful city in its prime. Entering the vicinity of Hampi, I saw massive boulders in the largely rocky landscape, balanced on or against seemingly precarious positions. Hampi is a weekend getaway from Bangalore. Its silence can settle into our soul and we can begin to feel its vibrations. I found places of great natural beauty in mountains, seaside’s, plains and deserts.

Khajuraho Temples

This town is completely built in red sandstone and has been recognized as one of the world heritage site. Fatehpur Sikri presents the best example of the culmination of Hindu and Muslim architecture and at the same time Mughal architectural splendor. There are many exciting attractions in Fatehpur Sikri such as Buland Darwaza, Diwan-khanai-khaas, The Treasury, Turkish Sultana's House, Palace of Jodha Bai, Panch Mahal etc. Fatehpur Sikri also comprises of a numerous palaces, halls and Masjids in typical Mughal fashion. 

Taj Mahal: a Tomb for A Lost Soul Mate

The Taj Mahal looms fairytale-like from the banks of the Yamuna River. It's India’s most recognized monument and is also one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Taj Mahal has a rich history dating back to 1630 AD. It’s actually a tomb that contains the body of Mumtaz Mahal -- the wife of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. He had it built as an ode to his love for her. It's made out of marble and took 22 years and 20 000 workers to complete. Words cannot do the Taj Mahal justice, its incredible detail simply has to be seen to be appreciated.
